Jørn Utzon Sydney Opera House
Celebrating one of the most iconic examples of Modernist architecture, not only in Australia, but the world is the Sydney Opera House. Designed by Danish Architect, Jørn Utzon, construction commenced in 1959 and was completed in 1973. The blocks of colours are hand cut out of MDF boards while the letters and numbers are hand cut out of Lino. Each are rolled with water-based inks and then hand printed onto quality printmaking paper. The irregularities in the application of colour and small marks on the final printed poster are not flaws but are characteristic of this printmaking technique, and add to the individuality of the piece.
