Swainsona Formosa
Swainsona Formosa or Sturt's Desert Pea is the floral emblem of South Australia. The letters and dots are hand cut from Lino while the flower forms and leaves are carved into an MDF board. These elements are rolled with water-based inks and then hand printed onto quality printmaking paper one colour at a time. The irregularities in the application of colour and small marks on the final printed poster are not flaws but are characteristic of this printmaking technique, and add to the individuality of the piece.
