2021 Typographic Calendar large Hand Printed
The design of this calendar is inspired by the typography and graphic design of the Bauhaus. The pastel colours of yellow, orange, lavender and blue, along with their arrangement, are designed to promote mental health and wellbeing.
The numbers, letters and circles in this calendar have been individually hand cut out of Lino. These are placed onto a template, rolled with water-based inks and then hand printed onto quality printmaking paper. The irregularities in the application of colour and small additional marks are not flaws but are characteristic of this printmaking technique, and add to the individuality of the piece.
To hold this Calendar together, a black bar slides across from the top. To change over a month, leave the calendar hanging on its hook and slide the black bar off. Either turn over the sheet to reveal the next month or reposition the sheet at the back. Slide the black bar across the top again to lock in place.
Do not place in direct sunlight. I recommend keeping all the sheets together throughout the year, rather than disposing of them after every two months. As a suggestion, the Calendar could be reused as placemats. To do this, trim off the letters and numbers and laminate the top half of circles.
