This is a hand pulled lino print of a sketch I made while at the Café Pepper in Melbourne, Australia. After transferring my sketch onto a Lino tile and carving the image out, ink is applied over the surface, paper laid over the top and then pressure is applied using a Baron to create the final image. I use a technique called Chine Collé to add other paper during the printing process. In this case, part of the music score from Nils Petter Molværs Khmer was printed onto fine Japanese Paper and then added during the printing to form the background to the Café scene. For me, a refreshing Café experience is enhanced by music, in particular by Scandinavian Jazz artists such as Nils Petter Molvær.
